Red Oak Park affordable housing
The first four families moved into the homes on Feb. 2, 2011. From the Camera:
“Leases are being made available to people who are on the extensive waiting list for affordable housing properties, although Boulder Housing Partners made sure to give former residents of Mobile Manor the first chance to move in.
The site features 10 different floor plans, including single-family homes, duplexes and triplexes. There will also be a community center, as well as two parks and a bike path.
The homes themselves are a model of green engineering. The homes were designed to be energy-efficient, with each unit including its own set of solar panels to offset the cost of electricity. There’s also super-efficient central heating and cooling systems, and each unit is Energy Star certified. Each unit will also receive an RTD Eco-Pass.”
